The Midway Athletic Association offers Fall and Spring seasons for baseball. In order to register, athletes must live within the Midway Elementary district.
The age groups offered are as follows:
- T-Ball - age 4
- Modified - ages 5 and 6
- 8U (Rookie) - ages 7 and 8
- 10U (Minor) - ages 9 and 10
- 12U (Major) - ages 11 and 12
Eligibility for T-Ball and Modified Baseball
T-Ball and Modified Baseball are community run sports amongst Wallburg/Midway/Arcadia and Welcome. T-ball is for our youngest athletes ranging in age from 3-5 years old. Modified Baseball ranges in age from 5 years old until the age is met per Davidson County Babe Ruth League (DCBRL) standards. Please see the DCBRL chart for your child’s specific eligibility. Considerations are made to move a child up if he or she meets all the requirements set forth by Midway Athletics Association. Midway along with other booster clubs have a set of standards that a child must meet before he or she is allowed to move up a division if they do not meet the age requirement. First, we look at birthdate. How far outside the cutoff is the child’s birthdate? Second, has the child played for two consecutive seasons in their current division? Third, does that child have the skills, ability, and maturity to play up a division? Does the child stand out amongst his or her peers regarding maturity and playing ability? Lastly, is there a need to move a child up that does not meet the age requirement? If the child meets these standards, then we take our request to DCBRL for approval.
